Keeney Angus April 7 Bull and Heifer Sale

Just arrived home Mike. Would have enjoyed going out to eat but not sure if I would have survived the trip home as I was getting tired as it was. Fortunately the old Dodge decided that 1 busted heater hose was enough aggravation for the driver on this trip. I knew I had reason to be anxious about the bulls and boy that was confirmed when the 2nd bull came off the trailer. I think the conclusion will be correct and that they will likely both breed very similar. I just happen to prefer the one that you do not like as well. Charlie is really no competition to me with those little bulls of mine and that are now at your place...Mine are to make Model A type cows and Charlie's are B's that the offspring should all be considered to be C's.

Nice to meet you in person Joe. You certainly look like the guy in Dennis's drawings. Drawings just can't do your accent justice. Your wife certainly has a good eye with how quick she can pick out a 4 leaf clover.

my evolving thoughts on Unwanted as of now are...if you`re going to be little; you best be pretty... and the one you brought is sooooo pretty...
but not as pretty as Joe and Kathy...or did you even look past Kathy do see how pretty Joe was?...It`s like that with bulls sometime; we can`t look past the individual to see the herd...

Yes Mike, Joe really knows how to pick his females. Don't think for a moment Paeltz and I did not notice how quickly you told us to take the good truck to ourselves so that Kathy and I guess Joe too could ride with you. No wonder you won't buy a truck with anything but a single bench seat.

for the pretty side of Keeney`s Corner posters, continues to awe me with their brains ...I wish Kendra could have been here to listen to Kathy talk about why she is considering home schooling the kids; or tuned in on our "rights of man" discussion; or laughed and cried a little inside with us about the upbringing that Kathy and Linda shared in common to a degree...
I could go on and on, but I might miss someone...but thx gals, all of you, for what you give to this KC effort; either directly, or indirectly... Lots of candidates for cattle breeder wife of the year...I gotta get a committee appointed to handle that before the McNamee Gathering...committees are the way to pass the buck of the "no-win" kind of choices, isn`t it?

Staring down 720 miles of road, in two days, has me beat, and drained. Lots of goodies to mull over in my absence.

You'll never make it to the top in the "Raise 'em Rough" camp. Next thing we'll hear is that they broke one of their front legs prior to conglomerating all of the bulls from everywhere to not make a mob non-grazing group to make it rougher and tougher. Used to be a saying about "starving a profit out of cows" that never worked either.

some bad news and good news Joe...the bad news is after entertaining some thoughts of bringing this next little jag of cattle all the way out to you and see , as Wendell Berry says, "your place"; I`m still only coming half way...the good news is I`m going to deliver a little fire and brimstone talk late June over there in Fulton County, Ky along the mighty Missisipp thanks to some long time customers over there...and I said yes, I`ll do it, because I`ll be able to bop on over and see you...well hell, that too might be bad news for you ...and here I was just trying to cheer you up with Kathy gone and all...

Oh, and put some tires on your trailer, passenger side front looked pretty sketchy, and one of trucks needs tires. Don't forget a jack either. The heifers haven't ran away from home yet.

Yep, The "good" truck I drove Saturday shakes a helluva lot at 10mph and only gets worse . Front tires have some real bad belts. What size trailer do you have Bootheel that you could not take everything back? I am guessing that trailer must be 30ft or more. Or maybe I should I ask, How many did you take? Hopefully he can afford some new tires now.

new truck tires with tax were near $700 dollars today; hopefully, this years bulls about took care of that; so I can drive visitors around another year selling bulls; and if I`m lucky, put tires on another truck...that`s farming, isn`t it?
Woke up earlier than my usual 3 am post because the truck just got here to haul my bulls west...just unloaded some SAV/ AI stuff from the West headed on to points East...very interesting; I don`t know of any occurence that has instilled more confidence in what I am sending west than seeing this mainstream crap resting in my corral...thank goodness, it`s just overnight

I`ve given BrianL first option on this heifer for $100,000...if he doesn`t buy her, I suppose the next option is she will be next year`s Spring Sale feature female...pedigree, but no registration papers included...22%---- 5 generation ibc

Ill take the 206 calf Briann, will trade you for a rare and valuable high bred red bull. But I do got some questions? What qualifies some one to fall into that salt of the earth commercial cattlemen? I am I a Pepper of the earth bad commercial man??? I guess we will never know, Or are they only from Iowa?

i do not know why people are scared to let go of females. In the hog busness we sold register gilts with out paper for market pluus $50.00 and most of the time picked the gilts out for the custmer. A paper gilt costs 450.00 and they always wanted to pick. And 95% of the time they never picked the good gilts. If I am going to spend money on seed stock I alway want the breeder to select the stock. and if i do not trust the breeder to select the stock I would not want it any way.
