| NICE! You can see the Powell blood just coursing through their veins. And the yellow fellows look like smoooooooth operators. What impresses me the most though is that you finally fixed the date on the camera.

| if you have a couple of old AI breeding barns {whatever the hell that is } that have been made obselete by your herd bull battery, the Jimmer might be able to afford one; he`s been borrowing one previous

| The bulls are still looking good! I am still impressed by your forage management and the harvesters. How is the weather and moisture holding up there?

| Looks like the bull from Kent without a tag should come with a 5 star fly resistance rating Were those full brothers all 6309 sons? Look pretty good to me. Finishing up AI-ing heifers in the morning. I put 6309 in about 30 heifers so we'll see how that goes. I have about 20 straws left over, so I suppose I'll be tempted to AI again next year. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. | |

| easy happy with adequate RV still green here, could change in a week. most people here plan for the best, I plan for the worst and always seem to slide by on my good looks. WT Jim has a breeding barn which holds 2 cows I have a breeding box which only holds 1 cow. cow will lock up like a sow in heat in this box. it is dark and you do not catch their head, kinda like sex life after 50 LCP 977 is a son of 6309, the 3rd picture is a son of 977. the six full brothers are of emulous breeding. had with 84 heifers last year and never touched a calf except to tag. lost 1 calf too big, sold the cow mrvic and OT thank you but not really, dont like to describe cattle with words that end with er, ly, or est. just putting the boys with the girls | |

| How many litter mates did you start with to get to the six blue tag bulls? Peas in a pod..... Maybe I'm seeing things, but the two emulous bulls seems to have very different heads than most. TremendousLY masculine. Dammit an LY word.... | |

I remember when the powers that were at the time at UK were looking for Emulous bulls to stay current at UK, the selector didn`t like Carlton`s cattle; preferred Murray`s because they were much bigger framed...so when I finally got to tag along later, we never went to Carltons... looking at these "Carlton" bulls brought back those memories ...so like Angus has many versions, so does Emulous...so all that matters now, is the Powell or Larkota Emulous versions...good pics and thoughts...

good having you back in the USA Danny...how much real, not epd yearling weight, have you added to your yearlings over the last 15 years? Thanks Mike, good to be back. Can't really answer your question accurately. Reasons are changed calving seasons from spring to fall in this time frame, several years of not keeping many bulls (recuperating from cancer and chemo / radiations treatments), management in the way the bulls are developed, and of course the inconsistency in our weather patterns. To make an assumption, even if all things were equal year to year.....Don't think there would be that much gain in yearling weights. I say that because I have not made any significant changes in type or frame size over the years. Don't always select the highest performing bulls for in herd use if they are not going to maintain the ideals I have for this herd. Bull selections are heavily influenced from the maternal side.
